Respawn Entertainment’s First Game to be a Sci-Fi Shooter

Respawn Entertainment is the new game studio that was created by Jason West and Vincent Zampella after they were more or less kicked out of Infinity Ward last year.  Basically, these guys founded Infinity Ward, created the insanely popular Call of Duty franchise, got bought by Activision, created the Modern Warfare saga, and then got fired from Activision after MW2 sold over $500 million dollars worth of coin within the game’s first week.  Regardless of who f*cked who, they’re obviously talented game makers, so I’m glad to finally hear something about their newest studio, Respawn Entertainment.

Frank Gibeau, EA Games Label President, made a comment that Respawn is working on a sci-fi shooter that would be more similar to Gears of War and Halo than Call of Duty, or Battlefield.  Gibeau also said that this game won’t be officially announced until EA can pin point a date that will have the most impact for a successful release.  I’m definitely interested to find out more on this project from Respawn, so I’ll make sure to keep tabs on this story as it unfolds.  How about you?  Are you interested to see what the original Call of Duty maestros can put out with their new studio?  Let us know using the comments section below.  You’ve been thinking that this game could be good, really good…
