Rian Johnson Featurette Offers A Few New Looks at ‘The Last Jedi’

USA Today released a video featurette on Rian Johnson, who is directing a little film coming out this December called Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The purposes of the mini-doc is to show what it’s like to be a lifelong Star Wars fan now directing a Star Wars movie, so it’s full of Rian talking about how insane this opportunity has been for him. It also features interviews from his cast, who all seem to think he’s a swell dude. Plus, it’s set to a classic John Williams Star Wars theme, so it’s hard not to get emotionally invested into the 2-minute video.

What’s even more important about this video though is the fact that it offers a few new looks at The Last Jedi. By quick, I mean shit through a goose fast. Most of the new footage may be on screen for a second at best, so if you really want to dive into what is shown, you must be quick on the pause button. The two coolest spots revolve around Poe Dameron, who in one shot can be seen in the same location as Rey, which is very intriguing to think about how they end up together. The other is a shot of Poe looking cool as ice as he slides into a ditch during the Crait land battle.

You can check out the spot below, and don’t forget that Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15, 2017, so we’re less than two months away!
