VG Leaks has offered up some new details in regards to the Xbox 720′s hardware specs, and if they’re legit, the console is going to be a powerhouse. According to VG Leaks the next Xbox console will contain an 8 core 1.6GHz CPU, 8GB DDR3 RAM, an 800MHz GPU, 6x Blu-ray drive, USB 3.0, and gigabit ethernet. Only Microsoft knows for sure what will make up the guts of their next gaming console, but if these leaked specs are the real McCoy I’ll be a happy little gamer.

If these turn out to be the true hardware specifications, this thing is a beast. I know the console is more than just for gaming, but I just can’t imagine needing that much power. Developers are just now starting to program and unlock the true power of the 360, so it’s hard to imagine them taking advantage of all the “720″ has to offer for many years. That being said, I hope the Blu-Ray drive is definitely included because I could essentially decommission the use of my PS3 except for exclusive titles.

dude if the rumors are true looks set to be awesome but……the idea of play only once discs …realy this would kill the secondhand market and force most game shops to close and the allways on internet connection i dont mind that to much as paying a wopping £40.00 (english ) money i might just get use out of it any thaughts
