5 Lives Studios Brent Waller, lead environmental artist on Satellite Reign, can also apparently design LEGO figures. Earlier today he was informed that his 30th Anniversary Ghostbuster themed figures and ECTO-1 car had been greenlit for official production by LEGO. This marks just the seventh user created LEGO kit that got approved for production through the LEGO CUUSOO website since its inception in 2008, so it’s a pretty major deal.

This website allows LEGO fans to submit original builds for approval by the community, and if a submission reaches 10,000 supporters the project will be considered for production. Thanks to the spot on timing with the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters, Waller’s submission made the grade and will indeed be released as official LEGO kits.

Waller’s winning designs can be seen after the break. At first glance you’ll easily be able to see why these kits got the thumbs up from LEGO. The details are all there, complete with a ghost trap, and the ECTO-1 looks spot on to the one used in the movies.

In addition to his 30th anniversary LEGO set Waller has also created an exclusive Bob brick man for supporters of Satellite Reign on Kickstarter. He too is a little badass toy, so it’s no surprise that Brent Waller is successful as a game developer and as a LEGO designer. Head on down below to check out Brent’s winning work.
