Sideshow Collectibles’ latest Premium Format Figure offering is that of Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel from Snyder’s 2013 Superman reboot, and this geek decided to invest in one and unbox it for the world to see.

Rather than doing a straight up unboxing I opted to do a rudimentary stop motion shoot using the iPhone 6 Plus. This is my first go at stop motion, and no real planning went into it, but the video turned out alright, and it was a blast to make, so hopefully you’ll enjoy it too. It’s less than 50 seconds, so if it sucks it won’t completely be a waste of your time.

Overall this collectible is pretty solid, but it doesn’t really feel like a $380 statue. The Man of Steel himself is actually very hollow feeling, and doesn’t feature much weight, which adds to the cheapness. The suit on the other hand is fantastic, and looks just like the one Cavill wore in the film. If time permits a full review will be posted over the next two weeks.

There’s a widescreen version of the video after the break.

Thanks for watching!
