Solo New York Avenue C Rolling Duffle Review – Pulling in Style

Solo New York recently released a new Downtown Travel Collection, which features duffle bags and other luggage items geared towards urbanites who work hard but want to play hard on the weekend. I was sent a sample from the line for the Avenue C Rolling Duffle bag, and it definitely lives up to the quality I’ve come to expect from Solo New York.

The Avenue C checks in at 12.5″ x 24″ x 12.5″, so it’s a decent sized duffle bag that is capable of packing multiple days worth of clothing in, as well as some personal items like tech or toiletries. The bag features a spacious compartment that is lined with open mesh pockets on one side, and a zippered pocket on the other. There’s an additional zippered pocket on the outside of the bag too.

The bad can be pulled behind you thanks to its telescoping handle and wheels, but Solo New York also included handles for carrying. There’s even an included shoulder strap for those who want to sling it over their torso for carrying.

Quite frankly though, the bags style and feel are what have impressed me the most. This thing just feels expensive and looks very stylish thanks to Solo’s classic dark grey color choices. The material feels overly sturdy, almost bullet-proof, even though it definitely is not. If you own other Solo New York bags from its urban-centric collection, this duffle will look perfect alongside them.

Looks aren’t everything though with bags, especially those meant for travel, so I can confirm that the Avenue C is more than capable at keeping you dressed over a long weekend, or even longer depending on how you like to dress. Thrifty packers will be able to get a weeks worth of clothes in there if packed correctly and no electronics. Weekend warriors should be able to pack in their work gear for Friday, as well as clothes and items to get them to Monday or Tuesday if they’re headed out on a trip after work.

In terms of air travel, this bag is slightly too long for carry on, but I’ve seen people bring larger items on a plane, so I think you could get one on depending on your airline. If that is a major concern, there is a slightly smaller model called the LeRoy Rolling Duffle, which is rated as a carry on for most airlines.

Thanks to the Avenue C, Solo New York continues to impress with its line of bags geared towards urbanites and fashionistas. For $129.99 I believe it earns its value thanks to its size, portability, quality, and style. It makes for a great piece of medium-sized luggage that can go with you to the office, the airport, or a road trip.
