Solo New York Voyage Briefcase TSA Checkpoint Friendly Bag Review

Solo New York has rolled out a new Urban Nomad collection of bags for the fall, and we were lucky enough to get a sample of one of the new briefcase models.

We were sent the Voyage Briefcase, which retails for $64.99, and features three compartments with a lay flat design that is TSA checkpoint friendly. The lay flat design means that laptops can be left in the bag at a TSA security checkpoint, which is a bonus for frequent fliers.

The first compartment is great for storing your office supplies, portable hard drives, USB sticks, and other items you may need in a mobile desk. The second compartment is spacious, and has a built-in iPad/tablet compartment that is felt lined. This compartment is also great for loading in files, books, papers, magazines, etc. The third compartment has a padded sleeve that can hold laptops and MacBooks that are 15.6″ or less. It also has a zippered mesh pocket to securely store whatever you desire to slip into it.

The bag itself weighs less than two pounds, and has a detachable shoulder strap. The back of the bag also has a strap that can slide over luggage handles so you can conveniently stack it on your other luggage while traveling. The bottom of the bag and the sides have rubber/vinyl coverings for extra protection for the bag’s potential stress points.

The Voyage Briefcase is just another example of the great gear you can expect from Solo New York. You will pay a bit of a premium for the quality that Solo provides, but you definitely get what you pay for with this briefcase. You can check out the video review of the bag above to get a better look at the bag’s construction.
