SSX Gets 3-2-1-GO Multiplayer and Freeride Mode in New Update

EA revealed today that a SSX update went live today that will enable simultaneous multiplayer gameplay, as well as a new freeride mode. The new 3-2-1-GO multiplayer mode will allow upwards of 5 snowboarders to compete online during the same event.  Up until now SSX gamers could only race the ghost of their friend’s best times, and not a live gamer, so this new mode should ramp up the competition factor in gamers who like to embarass their friends in real-time.

The freeride mode is exactly what it sounds like.  When turned on you can explore any part of the game without rules, ghosts, scores, a clock, or a HUD.  I’m not exactly sure what the whole no rules thing could mean, but if it prevents me from sliding off a cliff face after a gnarly trick I could become a big fan of it.

This update should now be live, so if you’ve been hankering for some digital snowboarding you may want to fire up SSX again to chill off your hot summer day.  You’ve been needing to hit the slopes…
