EA and DICE have revealed the length of the campaign that will be in Star Wars Battlefront 2, and it clocks in with a Call of Duty-like length. The Battlefront 2 campaign will last between 5-8 hours depending on skill and achievement hunting practices, so as the post’s title suggests, the campaign is very similarly paced as a recent Call of Duty title. The game’s producer, David Robillard, explained the length by saying:

“We thought that around 5-7, maybe 8 hours is probably a good amount of time…we wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out.”

Quite frankly, being a big time Star Wars fan myself, I could handle a Star Wars game campaign reaching into the 100’s of hours, but for a shooter that will more than likely just clone multiplayer gameplay into the single-player campaign, I think the length is sufficient. It does make we wish that Visceral’s Star Wars game wasn’t cancelled, or that EA actually had a story driven Star Wars project in the works, because outside of mobile titles and the Battlefront series, the Star Wars franchise has been a glaring black hole in the gaming industry for many years.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 releases on November 17 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Don’t forget to reserve your copy early, so you can be ready to rumble once it goes live.
