Star Wars: Episode VII Officially to Begin Filming in May

We all knew this was going to get made, but it’s finally been announced that Star Wars: Episode VII is going to begin production this May. Confirmed by Walt Disney Pictures and LucasFilm, Star Wars: Episode VII will be set 3o years after the events of Return of the Jedi with a storyline that states we’ll be following “a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces”.

The full cast should be revealed any day, though it’s been heavily rumored that Adam Driver (Girls, Inside Llewyn Davis) is to play the antagonist. Other rumors include recent Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) and Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad). As previously reported, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill are set to return as well.

If you need something to hold you over until more news is released, here’s a video of Lando Calrissian doing the Cha Cha on Dancing With The Stars. Why a 70-something Billy Dee Williams is on DWTS is beyond me. Wait, DWTS is on ABC, ABC is owned by Disney, Disney owns LucasFilm, LucasFilm owned Star Wars – those clever marketing executives! I mean, watch Billy dance, there’s no other reason for him to be on the show. Also, Erin Andrews is my favorite, but that’s another story for another time.
