Star Wars Time: Favreau’s Show, Lucas Lovefest, Prequel Hatefest, and Looking Beyond ‘Rebels’

Nick and I had one of our infamous tangents in the latest episode of Star Wars Time, which did start with an honest effort to keep the cast under one hour in length. Anyway, it happens when we talk all things Star Wars, so while we start out with an agenda, which includes discussion on Jon Favreau’s new Star Wars TV show, how Disney jacked the look of the Solo posters, and how the ending of Star Wars Rebels may hint at the next animated Star Wars show.

The tangent we go down revolves around the Maker himself, George Lucas. If you’ve been listening to Star Wars Time since its inception, then you may thing that I personally hate George Lucas based on how I talk about the Star Wars prequels, but that’s not true at all. I love the man, and have looked up to him since birth, but I just took great umbrage with his prequels, and most of his Special Edition edits. I feel he lost his way with these projects, and got caught up in the magic of digital movie making instead of focusing on crafting great Star Wars stories. Despite my hate for the prequels, I still consider George Lucas to be one of the biggest influencers on my life, and he will go down in history as an artist people will still be talking about hundreds of years from now. So I don’t hate him, I was just severely disappointed with his vision for the prequels, and the horrendous changes he made to the original films. But hey, they’re just movies, so I’ve moved on, or have I?
