Star Wars Time Show: Ep. 9’s Emotional Ending, Red Lightsabers, and the Void of SW Video Games
Hey now Star Wars fans, Nick and I are back with a new episode of our Star Wars Time Show, and in it you’ll hear our thoughts on the new canon on how red lightsaber crystals are formed, Star Wars Episode IX’s emotional ending, Donald Glover’s thoughts on Lando being a deeper character than Han, and a discussion on the lack of Star Wars video games since EA took over the license.
The red lightsabers discussion is focused on the new revelations laid forth in the latest Darth Vader comic, which has a new explanation of why the Sith sabers are red. It’s a bit deeper than you may have originally thought, so Nick and I talk about the change and if we like it or not.
The Episode IX emotional ending discussion is framed around an article in which Colin Trevorrow explained that it will be an emotionally satisfying end to the new trilogy. Nick and I ponder what would make such an ending in terms of character arcs and possibly deaths during the show.
The Lando versus Han in the race for which character is deeper discussion is framed around an interview with Young Lando actor Donald Glover, in which he says that Lando is indeed a deeper character than Han. Nick and I discuss whether we agree with his assessment or not.
Finally, we close out the show with a discussion on the lack of AAA console/PC Star Wars games. We talk about how the Battlefront series is the only major franchise EA has invested in, and why we need other classic Star Wars video game franchises to get new titles, as well as the need for some plain old new IP set in the Star Wars universe.
You can watch and listen above through YouTube, or you can listen in below through our web player and Stitcher player (may need time to let it update to newest episode). Finally, you can always subscribe to the show via one of the available platforms below.
