Stranger Things 3 Isn’t Releasing Until the Summer of 2019

If you thought that you’d be returning to Hawkins anytime soon you thought wrong, because Netflix brass has revealed that the show’s third season will not air until the Summer of 2019. Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour, Netflix’s Cindy Holland teased a summer 2019 launch for Season 3.

Apparently, this season will be set during the Summer of 1985, so the kids will be out of school for the first time in the series, which has previously aired during the school year in the fall. This isn’t a delay by any means, it’s just when the show’s creators will have everything ready, plus it goes in line with the other seasons, which have released in our world during the same season the show is set in.

This setting also goes inline with the season’s cryptic first trailer, which was all about a new mall opening up in Hawkins, so I don’t think the release news is really that surprising. Stay tuned for more Stranger Things news as it becomes available.
