Fans of Stranger Things got a little gift this past New Year’s Eve in the form of a cryptic teaser trailer for the third season of the Netflix series, which also happened to reveal its release date.
Stranger Things Season 3, as predicted, will debut on Netflix this summer. In particular, it’ll release in full on July 4, 2019. This will coincide with the show’s setting, which will be set during Summer break in 1985. This is a slight change to the series formula, which has featured a fall setting for the past two seasons, so the kids are always in school, and prepping for Halloween. Now, for the first time, we will get a Stranger Things adventures with the kids out of school, and possibly working at the local mall, or at least hanging out there.
I think the Summer setting will definitely change things up a bit and provide a slightly different experience. I’m hoping for a return to form myself, because while I watched Season 2, I didn’t nearly appreciate it as much as the first Season, so I’m hoping some balance can be brought back to the franchise.
