A new featurette for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies has been released, and it takes a look back at seventeen years of Middle-earth movie making by the hands of Peter Jackson and his super talented crew. If you’re a fan of Tolkien’s novels, as well as Jackson’s films, this retrospective will surely give you the chills as you reminisce about all of the great moments that this franchise has had to offer.

It’s sad to think that next Tuesday’s release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will mark the end of live action Middle-earth movies for the time being, because it literally has been almost two decades since work started on Jackson’s LOTR trilogy. Maybe if the Tolkien estate ever gets on board he can make The Silmarillion, there’s at least three or four more movies in there right?

You can check out the retrospective above, and don’t forget to watch The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in theaters on December 17, 2014.
