Cyanide Studios is returning to the world it created in Of Orcs and Men for a new spinoff game called Styx: Master of Shadows. If you’re familiar with Of Orcs and Men then you’ll surely remember Styx, who was the little goblin partner to the oversized Arkail. In that game his smaller size proved to be beneficial for stealthy situations, so a game built around his skill sets can definitely work.
Styx: Master of Shadows will focus on stealth infiltration gameplay as Styx makes his way up the miles-high Tower of Akenash to unlock the secret of his past. Along the way he’ll have to murder, steal, and spy his way to success using his mastery of the stealth arts. The game will also feature RPG elements in the form of six talent trees, which will yield new skills based on experience earned. Focus Home Interactive has released the first set of screenshots for Styx: Master of Shadows, which you can check out after the break.
Unlike Of Orcs and Men this game seems to be a PC exclusive, so it doesn’t look like it’ll make the jump to consoles any time soon. If you want to dabble in Styx’s world again you’ll have to pony up for a rig.
Styx: Master of Shadows is set for release on PC sometime in 2014.
