Super Mario Bros. One of Six Inaugural Inductees into the World Video Game Hall of Fame

Nintendo has revealed that Super Mario Bros., the 8-bit NES classic that essentially started the home video game console craze, has been inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame among five other titles. The recognition is fitting considering this franchise is 30 years old, and has spawned more iconic gaming experiences than probably any other single video game franchise.

It’s not clear which of the other 15 finalists made the final cut, but you can check out the full list of candidates on the WVGHoF website. If I had a vote I’d go Zelda, SMB, Sonic, The Oregon Trail, Doom, and Tetris.

What would your picks be from the list of finalists? Leave a comment below to let the world know!
