Televised Cliff Notes for ‘The Walking Dead’ Is Coming

The Walking Dead has remained one of the most constantly talked about shows over the past few years. The ongoing tale of a world tossed into the realm of uncertainty and basic instinct is about to enter its seventh season, and answering a major question that left millions in suspense last April. Here’s a refresher in case you forgot or spent the past six months scrubbing this from memory so you could sleep at night:

While the show draws millions of viewers, those left out of the loop have to contemplate if they have the time, energy, and emotional restraint to binge watch six seasons worth before season seven starts in a few weeks. Fortunately the folks at AMC have provided a third option, which involves a minimal, two hour retrospective special that speeds through the show’s story. Titled The Walking Dead: Journey So Far airs on October 16th at 9pm. Here’s the official statement from AMC:

“Season by season, from the moment Rick wakes up in the hospital (as told by Andrew Lincoln), all the way to the excruciating first swing of Negan’s bat (told by Jeffery Dean Morgan and others in the lineup), the story of “The Walking Dead” will be told by those who have lived it. “The Walking Dead: Journey So Far” gives viewers who have never seen an episode of “The Walking Dead” a chance to get all caught up on the plot, characters, locations, and unique terminology of the series as well as providing fans who‘ve never missed a moment with fresh interviews with the series’ producers and their favorite actors as part of an exciting refresher course that will further whet their appetite for the new season.”

So if you’re someone who’s been itching to dive in, but afraid to commit to the 83 hours of episodes already aired, be sure to check this retrospective out and the season seven premiere on October 23rd.
