The Sega Genesis is a console that’s had so many “mini” and clone consoles made of it by AtGames. Thankfully, those bums are nowhere near the Sega Genesis Classic this time around, it’s being handled all in-house by Sega. The emulation quality of past consoles has been sketchy at best, so I think we’re all desperately hoping that this is a huge improvement.
Ten more games were announced for the console today! Those are:
- Mega Man: The Wily Wars
- Street Fighter II’: Special Champion Edition
- Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
- Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
- Beyond Oasis
- Golden Axe
- Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium
- Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball
- Vectorman
- Wonder Boy in Monster World
Mega Man: The Wily Wars is especially cool because until now, the only way you could’ve gotten it (legally) was downloading it on SEGAnet. Which was an online service for the Genesis. Which most certainly does not exist anymore. It’s cool to see so many classic Genesis games getting some attention, and I think it gives a lot of us hope for either ports or remakes!
