Thanos is Coming to ‘Fortnite’ Thanks to New Limited ‘Infinity War’ Event

Two of the most popular entertainment franchises at this particular time on Earth are coming together thanks to a new partnership between Epic Games and Marvel Studios. Starting on May 8th, gamers who are addicted to playing Fortnite will have the ability to take part in a limited event that will bring Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War into the game’s Battle Royale mode. I don’t even play Fortnite, but I’m excited about the news none-the-less, because it’s just awesome to see two super popular franchises from different entertainment mediums coming together for the benefit of fans.

EW got the exclusive on how this event will play out in Fortnite when it goes live on May 8th, which is tomorrow if you’re keeping score. According to EW, The Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup will place the gauntlet randomly on the map, and whoever finds it will be turned into Thanos, and they will also wield the power of the gauntlet and its six stones. This mode will be free for all versions of the game that support its Battle Royale mode, which include the PS4, Xbox One, PC/Mac, and iOS. Make sure to login tomorrow to get in on this limited time event!

About The Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup

The “Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup” mode for Battle Royale will feel just like a standard slugfest — with one major difference: One hundred players will descend upon the map and fight until one player is left standing, as usual, but this time you’ll do so with the Infinity Gauntlet in play.

The artifact containing all six Infinity Stones — the same one Thanos used to cripple Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the big screen — will appear on the map. Whomsoever finds and equips it will transform into Thanos himself, wielding all the power that comes with him.
