According to SuperHeroAuthority.com Disney may release The Avengers: Director’s Cut in theaters later this Summer in an attempt to become the highest grossing domestic movie of all-time. This may not be too far from reality considering that Joss Whedon himself has mentioned that he will be preparing a director’s cut of the film for the Blu-ray/DVD release of The Avengers, so why not adapt it for the big screen. I’ve seen this movie three times already in theaters, so I don’t think I’d have a problem seeing it for a fourth time if it came packed with 30 minutes of never before scene footage.
Only time will tell if this rumor is legit or not, but considering that American companies like to make as much coin as possible on their wares, I wouldn’t put it past Disney trying to get a few more million dollars out of The Avengers cash cow. Would you pay to see a director’s cut of The Avengers, or at this point would you rather just wait until it gets released for home use? Let us know using the comment section below. You’ve been thinking you’d be in line for this rumored re-release…
