The Father, Son, and Daughter of the Force to be Featured In Star Wars Rebels

Unless you’re a hardcore Star Wars fan you’re probably wondering who the hell the Father, Son, and Daughter of the Force are. They were first introduced in The Clone Wars animated series in an episode arc that took Anakin and Ahsoka to Mortis where Anakin met the triumvirate. The way these beings function is that the Son represents the Dark Side of the Force, the Daughter is the Light Side, and the Father is the balance, so they essentially embody the symbiotic relationship of the Force between dark and light. The Father wanted Anakin to take his place, therefore fulfilling the prophecy of the Chosen One and bringing balance to the Force, but we know how that turned out.

Whether you want to believe these three characters are the root of the Force as we know it is up to you, but based on some images from the upcoming hour block of Star Wars Rebels episodes, it looks like they’ll be thrust into the spotlight once again. It appears that the Empire and the Rebels will explore a Jedi temple on Lothal, and in that temple is a painting of the Force 3. I’m excited to see how the show handles these three, because technically they’re canon, and they do more or less explain how the Force can go out of balance and how it stays in balance. It’ll be interesting to see if the writers have changed their function in Star Wars, but I’m guessing their tale from The Clone Wars will remain in tact.

You can check out a clip from the new episodes above, as well as brief summaries of each after the break. There are images to pick through as well.
