During the latest episode of The Star Wars Show two vehicles from Star Wars: The Last Jedi were revealed, and one of them was briefly glimpsed in the film’s first trailer that released in April.
If you remember the scene where it looks like there are Imperial AT-ATs in the distance as smaller vehicles speed toward them, then those are the walkers I’m referring to. This First Order walker is called the AT-M6 which is a new updated version of the AT-AT. Its full name is All Terrain Megacalibur Six, which sounds dope as hell. It’s official description goes as follows:
“It has a megacalibur six laser cannon on its back. Think of it as a mobile heavy artillery walker that’s way bigger than a standard AT-AT. And while an AT-AT might move like an elephant, the AT-M6 has a more simian-like gait, which helps it stabilize the cannon.”
Another new Star Wars vehicle, in particular another First Order ship, was also shown off in the segment. It is called the Dreadnought, and it basically is a ship with guns attached to every single square inch of its surface. It is described as:
“The Dreadnought is a mandatory four class warship and has two enormous orbital auto cannons, which can be used for larger-scale bombardments. It measures 7,669.72 meters in length, or 25, 162.8 feet for those of you who never learned the metric system. The First Order Dreadnought also has 24 point defense anti-aircraft cannons on its dorsal surface.”
It was also revealed today that Star Wars fans can start playing an augmented reality treasure hunt using the Star Wars mobile app. This is being done to promote Force Friday II, which is set for 9/1 at 12:01am. You can find out more via a video below.
Finally, General Leia sent us all a transmission today via YouTube, so you can check that out as well below.
