The ‘Jurassic Park 3D’ Trailer Made Me Cry (Almost)

Spielberg is jumping on the George Lucas bandwagon of re-releasing classic films (OK the prequels aren’t classics, but you get the idea) re-done in HD and with 3D visuals with his Jurassic Park franchise.  Next April Jurassic Park 3D will be released for a whole new generation of geeks to fall in love with, and there’s a new trailer to remind us of how awe inspiring this movie still is 20 years after its initial release.

I can’t believe it’s already been 20 freaking years!  It just seems like yesterday when I first went and saw this groundbreaking film in my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA as a young 12 year-old geek in training.  The visuals, sounds, and majestic score will forever be imprinted on my grey matter.  That’s probably why I got all emotional listening to the soundtrack in the trailer below.  It’s one of those movie scores that you’ll always be able to pinpoint when you hear it, and it’ll bring a smile to your face no matter how sh*tty your current situation is.

Unlike The Phantom Menace in 3D, I think Jurassic Park 3D will actually be a worthwhile movie going experience, so I’ll definitely be checking it out next April.  In the mean time why don’t you check out the trailer for it after the break.  You’ve now got the Jurassic Park theme song stuck in your head…
