‘The Last Jedi’ Tie-in Novel May Hint At Leia’s Ultimate Star Wars Fate

There will be potential Star Wars: The Last Jedi book spoilers present in this article, so proceed at your own risk.

The tie-in novel for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is due to hit retail next week, but that hasn’t stopped revelations from it from leaking. The latest reveal could be major, as it may hint at what ultimately happens to Princess Leia in Star Wars: Episode IX. Apparently, she’s not quite as healthy as we were led to believe after being sucked into the vacuum of space. It appears that in the book fans will be given insights into Leia’s failing health after she wakes up from her coma. The Force may have allowed her to survive the initial shock of being sucked into space, but it couldn’t prevent her from getting solar radiation sickness and hypoxia.

According to the book leaks, she is suffering from her health conditions during the Battle of Crait and beyond, so there’s a great chance that in Episode IX we may be seeing a funeral scene for Leia earlier than later. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if they explain her sickness and its toll on her health in the crawl, and then have her funeral featured as the first scene of the film. Who knows, but based on the book leak, Leia isn’t as well off as we thought at the end of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Some other revelations have been coming out of the book too, such as the fact that Kylo may have deeper feelings for Rey than just partnering up with her to rule the galaxy. Just check out this tweet below that features a blurb from the book.

Stay tuned for more Star Wars news as it becomes available!
