Tolkien’s Universe can now be experienced on Facebook via an app called The One Ring.  I can almost hear him groaning in his tomb at the thought of his masterpiece now being told through a game, especially on a site where people think their daily routines are interesting to others.  I will admit that my LOTR fanboyism was enough to force me to check The One Ring game out, and I was less than impressed.  It’s a very simple point and click reading adventure that isn’t much different than other games of this nature on Facebook like Mafia Wars.

I don’t really have the attention span for this genre of game, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try it out yourself.  If you’re a fan of Tolkien’s works I’d at least give it a go, because you never know what may tickle your fancy.  You can add it to your Fb profile through this link, and if you just want to see what it looks like you can head on down past the break for some screenshots.  You’ve been wishing that this game was actually worth playing…
