The Plot of Solo: A Star Wars Story Gets Fleshed Out In New Trailer, Plus New Poster Revealed
Yesterday night Lucasfilm and Disney released a new full length trailer for Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, and it is loaded with plot details. Unlike the first two teasers, this trailer really shines a light on this film’s narrative, and the adventures that young Han and Chewie will find themselves on. It sets up the big heist that Han gets hired for by Beckett, as well as why he comes across Lando Calrissian and his Millennium Falcon. You also get to hear L3-37 speak for the first time among the other new tidbits featured in the latest trailer for Solo.
I plan to do a break down of the trailer later on today, but I can tell you that I’m a bit more cautious than ever about Alden Ehrenreich’s performance as young Han. We’ve heard the rumors about his struggles to channel Harrison Ford’s version of the character, and after hearing him deliver a few more lines in this new trailer, I at least can feel those struggles. His performance feels a bit forced and unauthentic to say the least. Hopefully this is just because we’re seeing only slices of scenes in this trailer, and that Alden’s performance isn’t as stiff as it appears, because without him being believable, this stand alone story is in trouble.
In addition to the new trailer, a new poster was released, and you can check it out below.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25, 2018.
