The Retro Ninja Gaiden-esque ‘The Messenger’ Releasing on August 30
Sabotage and Devolver Digital’s The Messenger, which is very reminiscent of the old school 8-bit Ninja Gaiden games, is releasing on August 30, 2018, so a new trailer has been released to show it off. Anyone that grew up in the 80’s and owned a NES will probably also see the resemblance between this game in the early Gaiden games, as it too is a side-scrolling action platformer starring a ninja. This also means that the game will require precision, and master level skill with platforming controls. It will not be for the weak of heart.
The game is releasing for PC and Switch, so if you go for the latter you’ll have a nice little mobile retro game to take with you on the go. Check out the new trailer above to see what The Messenger is all about.
About The Messenger
The Messenger is a genius update of the tight platforming combat which reigned supreme in the 8 and 16-bit eras and is boosted by self-aware humor, a killer soundtrack, and a surprisingly endearing band of demons. PC and Switch fans should expect more than just a straight tribute to simpler times however; like any good ninja, The Messenger has a few tricks hidden in its arsenal.
