The Shining and The Grand Budapest Hotel Create an Amazing Mashup

Mashup videos are nothing new in the YouTube era, and it seems like there’s a new one your friend tells you “you have to see” every week. More often than not, the mashup is merely ok and may provide a wry smile once or twice, but not much more than that.

Steve Ramsden took two popular hotel movies separated by 24 years consisting of two completely different plots and created “The Grand Overlook Hotel”, which you can see in the video above. It’s especially impressive at the 0:15 mark, where Shelley Duvall turns to enter a room and we seamlessly transition to Ralph Fiennes barking out orders.

You can check out more videos on Ramsden’s YouTube Channel here.
