The Surge 2’s E3 Trailer Is Action-Packed and Cryptic

The first Surge game genuinely felt like somewhat of a horror game, with the general atmosphere, dark corners, and mood. The sequel looks a lot more techo-punk with the city setting, it’s clear that everything is just complete and total shit now. People look like they’re basically dying in the streets (what few people there are), and it’s clear that cult(s) have taken over.

Though it’s only a cinematic trailer, if the gameplay is anything even close to this, it’ll be more fast-paced and action-y than the first game. I think there will still be spooky elements to the game, but I don’t think it’s going to be a horror game anymore. The massive machine shown in the trailer is right in-line with some of the bosses from the first game, and hopefully actually appears in the game.

Check out the trailer above and let us know what you think and if you’ll be picking up the game when it comes out!
