The Thief of Wishes is a sweet little game that came out for iOS devices. It’s a narrative based game that follows Catherine as she learns more about the magic Fountain in her little town.

What’s really special about The Thief of Wishes is that children can play a game like this and actually get something out of it. It helps develop strong reading comprehension skills. While most games can be mindless, The Thief of Wishes sets out to do the opposite. The app also includes a few mini games that include memory functions.

While Catherine has her nose in a book, she discovers something isn’t quite right. This is what kicks off her journey to learn the truth. Of course her curiosity is what sets off certain events and it’s during these moments that she has to decide what she will do. This is where you, the player, determines what choices Catherine makes to bring order back to her little town.

Again, narrative based games have really taken off over the last few years. Most of them are unnecessary and it’s become a bit of a cash grab. For All Blue Studio this is not the case. This group of talented individuals set out to make a sweet game for children and adults to enjoy. While the game is currently out on iOS devices only, it’s still worth checking out.

It should be noted that the art design of the game is spot on. There was never a time that I felt like something didn’t belong. The attention to the little details make The Thief of Wishes stand out a little more than other apps out there. Between a good story and being visually pleasing, The Thief of Wishes is an app for you or the little ones to enjoy. Not to mention, the story can be replayed and you might end up choosing differently the second or third time around. I know i did.

Devoted a piece of her skin to a Destiny tattoo and has a long term plan of cosplayjng as a Bioshock Splicer or Warlock at some point. Her prized possession is an autograph from Robert Englund welcoming her to prime time. Favorite games include those mentioned above, Aladdin for SNES, losing her life to Animal Crossing and the good Resident Evil games. Saga comics are an unequivocal recommendation.
