The Walking Dead Loses Another Showrunner en route to Season 4 Renewal

Well zombie fans AMC has announced that they and Glen Mazzara have parted ways, which means their The Walking Dead show will need a new show runner for season 4, which they also announced is officially happening.  AMC and Glen have mutually decided to move in different directions over a difference in opinion as to where the show should head next.  Is it me, or is AMC just being dickish about their hit show?  Don’t forget that they kicked out the original showrunner in Frank Darabont after the first season, and now they’ve lost Mazzara after only two seasons of work.

It sounds like the suits at the network like to keep having a pissing contest with their creative talent to prove they have more power over the matter, which is disappointing.  Lets hope that Glen’s replacement can pick up where he left off.  You can read the official press release after the break.  You’ve been hoping The Walking Dead continues to kick zombie brains…

“AMC also jointly announces with Glen Mazzara today that for future seasons, the two parties have mutually decided to part ways. Glen guided the series creatively for seasons 2 and 3. AMC is grateful for his hard work. We are both proud of our shared success.”
