I’ve always been extremely impressed with the art of carpentry, and I greatly respect those who can manipulate wood into usable objects.  I unfortunately was never given these skills, but I’ve made up for it with my technological feats, so I don’t feel too bad not being able to craft something out of a tree.  Although, there’s a geek by the name of Ben Winfield who has managed to meld the skills of woodworking and geekness into an awesome project based on gaming.

You see Winfield recreated the original Xbox just using wood, and he even fashioned a controller out of wood to go with it!  The level of detail is disgusting, and if the original article didn’t explicitly state that this wooden Xbox didn’t actually play games I wouldn’t have know any better.  This is definitely the type of carpentry project that I can get interested in, and while the wooden Xbox is ultimately useless it’s still a piece of geek art that needs to be shared.  Check it out below and let us know what you think.  You’ve been thinking that wooden controller could probably handle your outbursts better than the plastic ones…
