From the ashes of the old Infinity Ward comes a title that looks to put its own twist on the FPS genre. Respawn Entertainment proudly presented Titanfall to the world this afternoon, a tantalizing combination of FPS gameplay and robotic domination.

Making an appearance on the stage was Vince Zampella, better known as the co-founder of the company who gave us the Call of Duty series. After a well-publicized falling out with Activision, Zampella founded Respawn Entertainment with Jason West, and their long rumored “sci-fi shooter” appears to have come to fruition.

Titanfall’s gameplay is a chaotic mix, as Respawn and Microsoft showed off the FPS gameplay COD fans know and love and a clash of the “Titans” the game’s title alludes to. It was a thoroughly impressive display – between the gunplay, the robots, and the frenetic movement of the players (possibly elements of parkour?) there was a lot for players to look forward to.

While it was advertised at the presser as an Xbox One exclusive, the exclusivity of the game seems unclear, and may in fact may just be a timed scenario like many DLC packs. A trailer and a small clip of high velocity gameplay footage are available below.
