News broke earlier this week that Tom Hardy will star in a new FX series entitled Taboo. The drama series is going to be produced by both Ridley Scott and Hardy, beginning with an eight-episode season slated to debut in mid 2016.

Taboo was created by Steven Knight (Locke), where the lead role of James Keziah Delaney (played by Hardy) is an adventurer who comes home after a trip to Africa for ill-gained diamonds to chase vengeance after his father’s death. He then sets out to build his own trade and shipping empire, leading to a dangerous matchup between himself and the East India Company.

The show will also be available in the U.K. on the BBC.
