The Creative Assembly are getting a lot of use out of the Total War franchise, as they have just announced they are developing a third game to be released sometime in the near future. Total War Battles: Kingdom will be a free-to-play online strategy game aimed at PC, Mac and tablet devices.

Taking place at the beginning of the 10th century, and set in medieval England, the game features a persistent online world. Players will manage their own fief while taking part in large scale tactical battles.

The team behind Total War Battles: Kingdom are the same team that developed Total War Battles: Shogun, which was highly praised, and also primarily designed for touchscreen devices.

No release date has been given, but interested players can sign up for the closed beta on the PC. In the meantime, check out the trailer above and the screenshots below.
