Transformers: Dark of the Moon 3D Ultimate Edition Coming 1/31/12

Transformer fans with 3D HDTV’s will finally be able to watch Dark of the Moon (Transformers 3) in glorious Blu-ray 3D on January 31, 2012.  The Transformers: Dark of the Moon 3D Ultimate Edition will contain 4 discs with one of them being a DVD for poor people, and the other 3 will consist of the regular version of the film on Blu-ray, Special Features, and finally the 3D version of Transformers 3.  I for one am jacked for this announcement, because if anything, T3 was an awesome 3D experience to behold, and it sounds like Bay really made sure he did things right for the home 3D market by stating, “This Blu-ray 3D of Dark of the Moon will blow you away. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to get a 3D television, this is it!”  Thanks Mike, can’t wait!

In addition to the Dark of the Moon Ultimate Edition, a 7 Disc Collector’s Edition will also be released on 1/31/12, which will feature all 3 of the Transformer films, 10 hours of special features, and the 3D version of Dark of the Moon.  This is the ULTIMATE fan package for Autobot and Decepticon groupies.  Too bad I already have films 1 and 2 on Blu-ray, so I don’t think I can convince myself to buy them again in this collector’s package, but I’d be lying if I said that it won’t be hard to pass up at the local Best Buy.  For a complete list of contents in both of these 1/31/12 Transformer box sets head on down past the break.  You’ve been glad that you’ve got some 3D Oakley glasses for this one…
