Trevor Noah Next in Line for ‘The Daily Show’

Comedy Central’s new host for The Daily Show will be South African native Trevor Noah, who appeared on the show as a correspondent just three times since his debut last December. While there is no set date for Jon Stewart’s departure, Comedy Central has taken the proper precautions to make sure there is someone lined up to take his place. Stewart has also expressed his endorsement for Noah:

“I’m thrilled for the show and for Trevor. He’s a tremendous comic and talent that we’ve loved working with.”

There was much speculation that Stewart’s replacement may have been someone who has been more involved in the show, president Michele Ganeless said Comedy Central chose Noah after many meetings and discussions with various talents, and felt Noah to be the best fit.
