Two New Game of Thrones Character Featurettes: Renly and Theon

The second episode of Game of Thrones Season 2 aired last night, and besides it being just as awesome as the rest of the series’ episodes it also introduced the character of Balon Greyjoy.  Being a non-reader of Martin’s books this was the first time I got to see this character on screen.  The scenes between himself, Theon, and his daughter were some of the best from last night’s episode, so the character featurette below is a cherry on the top for n00bish Song of Ice and Fire fans like myself.

In addition to the Theon Greyjoy featurette, HBO has also released one for Renly Baratheon, the youngest brother of Robert.  I knew of Renly from the first season, but it was nice to see where he has come since then.

I’m fully committed to the Game of Thrones world now, so any bit of information I can wrap my mind around in regards to the characters that inhabit it is just fine for me.  I appreciate the level of passion that HBO is showing for this series, and these little video vignettes in between the main episodes are great little nuggets of information for the uninformed fan like myself.  You can check out the Theon Greyjoy and Renly Baratheon character featurettes below.  You’ve been telling yourself that you really need to start reading these damn books…
