Ubisoft Releasing Mega Man Like Kinect Game Called PowerUp Heroes

Ubisoft hasn’t officially announced PowerUp Heroes yet, although they do have a generic posting on their website that gives a brief description of the Kinect enabled game.  From the looks of things this game definitely calls upon the Mega Man formula of obtaining super powers that belong to each level’s boss for you to use in future levels.  So PowerUp Heroes has some potential to be an innovative Kinect game that doesn’t involve soccer, volleyball, or bowling.

Let’s just hope it’s not like Ubisoft’s last Kinect fighting game – Fighters Uncaged, which was a complete turd.  I’m starting to get interested in playing a Kinect game that doesn’t involve some sort of sports theme.  I still love the motion controller, but it doesn’t seem to be getting any type of stellar software support quite yet.

I guess it really doesn’t matter since the Kinect is the new king of gadgets used in the home, but it’d be nice to play a game that steps away from the gimmicks that the Kinect sports games have perfected.  Plus, who wouldn’t like to turn their Xbox 360 Avatar into a Mega Man-like super hero?  Stay tuned for more details, and in the mean time check out Ubisoft’s official description of the game below.  You’ve been wanting to get your super hero on while wearing your new red spankies…

Ubisoft’s PowerUp Heroes

“The universe is in peril—and it’s up to you and your Xbox 360 avatar to eradicate the forces of evil. PowerUP Heroes is an explosive, super power infused, full body fighting game for Kinect. Take your Xbox360 avatar and power it up into a superhero and face off against ballistic super villains. Obliterate your enemy and seize their super suit and abilities to use in your next battle! Use the Necromancer suit and control a horde of skeletons or slip on the Mentalist suit to break into your enemy’s mind and much more!”
