DONTNOD Studios is releasing a series of developer diaries that show what goes on behind the curtain to make their upcoming game, Vampyr. The second episode, dubbed Architects of the Obscure, goes into exactly how the team used visuals and audio to bring 1918 London to life. DONTNOD shows off some of the areas you will explore and impact during your time with Vampyr. Each of the four districts has a unique feel and populous. The West End is where you will find all of the wealthiest individuals in London. On the opposite side to that, Whitechapel and the Docks are riddled with poverty.
The game’s audio composer, Olivier Deriviere discusses how he developed the game’s original score, all while considering the unique setting and atmosphere of 1918 London. You can view it all above in the second episode, as well as an exclusive performance by Eric-Maria Coutrier, of the Paris Ensemble InterContemporain, the solo celloist that drives the soundtrack.
