In my opinion the Star Wars Universe is one of the most recognized brands in pop culture history.  You would be hard pressed to find anyone that doesn’t live in a mud hut who hasn’t heard of Star Wars, or any of the iconic characters from it.  Star Wars is everywhere.  You’ll hear references to it on popular shows, you can wear it, you can eat it, and now you can rap to it.

There have been Star Wars raps before, most notably is probably the turn of the century cartoon style – Star Wars Gangsta Rap.  This is where we first heard Yoda rap to us that he’s a solja, he told ya, he’ll mold ya.  Classic stuff!  Well, Yoda may have to step down as one of my favorite rappers now that Vader has recently dropped his first classic with, ‘Galactic Empire State of Mind’.

Darth lays down his lyrics to the Jay-Z beats from the ‘Empire State of Mind’ track on the Blueprint 3.  This has to be one of the best Star Wars rap parodies of all time!  It has a high production value and uses real people rather than a cartoon characters.  I love the rhyme that Vader is spitting, which encompasses all the films from the original trilogy.  I’m also a big fan of the X-Wing Pilot, Stormtroopers, and Ewok background dancers.  Oh, and who can forget the lovely Leia on the 1’s and 2’s.  As a follower of pop culture you have to watch this classic bit of fan made Star Wars goodness.  You’ve been spitting with the Dark Lord of the Sith…
