Video Game Inspired Costumes for Halloween 2014
As the leaves drop from trees and the cold nights grow ever longer, the excitement for Halloween becomes ever more apparent. The celebrated holiday is one of the year’s most enjoyable and entertaining, thanks to the never ending possibilities for awesome costumes.
Much like last year, Halloween 2014 is a great time to showcase your love for all things video game to the world at large. If creating a video game costume is your goal, consider Entertainment Buddha your one-stop shop for the best character costume ideas around.
Delsin Rowe (Infamous: Second Son):
Infamous: Second Son’s main character keeps things simple in his wardrobe, while still managing to instantly stand out. A costume that can be recreated with relative ease, Delsin’s Adidas-esque shoes, dark denim pants and maroon beanie should provide little challenge to track down. Creating of finding a denim vest may be a little more difficult, but doing so and tying the wardrobe together with some pins, a long sleeve (preferably black or plaid) shirt, maybe some chains and a devil may care attitude will make you the envy of any video game nerd.
Talion (Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor):
Talion, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor’s protagonist, sports a traditional fantasy getup. The Ranger of Gondor might be hard to emulate for a Halloween costume, but those who attempt to pull it off will surely be commended. With an awesome fur cloak, Game of Thrones-chic bracers and some leather boots to round out the look, all that’s left is to track down some fantasy looking materials for his tunic and a sword. Bonus points will be earned for those who wish to get possessed by an otherworldly spirit, because that is dedication to the cause.
Amanda Ripley (Alien: Isolation):
Female video game fans can don the look of a space traveler by going the Amada Ripley route this year. The star of the recently released Alien: Isolation, Amanda keeps it classic in a dark jumpsuit with her hair pulled back. The weary technician look can be completed with a few patches applied to the jumpsuit, a key necklace and headset as well. It might be a simpler outfit, but avoiding deadly aliens requires a whole lot of mobility.
Pagan Ming (Far Cry 4):
The Far Cry 4 antagonist is easily this year’s most stylish video game character candidate. The leader of Kryat peacocks about his region in an absolutely eye-catching magenta suit. Certainly hard to find, pulling of this outfit will be something only the most dedicated Halloween enthusiasts would dare attempt. Accompanying the swanky suit is an off-white, patterned shirt, crocodile leather shoes, and a bleached sidecut. Going as Pagan Min this Halloween will require dedication, but with some hard work, devilish charisma and a tough haircut to explain, you’ll be the life of any party.
