Ubisoft has unveiled a new companion app for Watch Dogs called H_IDE, which is now available for free for iOS and Android devices (possibly for UK users only at this point.)
Unlike some of the other companion apps that have been shown off for games like The Division and Dead Rising 3, the Watch Dogs H_IDE app is a stand alone experience that only has a minor connection to the console game via special unlocks. Outside of those bonuses fans of the series can use the app to mask their voice for 20-second messages, and they can also use it to send encrypted social media messages.
The app is supposed to be available for both the iOS and Android platforms, but at this time only the Android link comes up in a search. Considering that multiple trailers for the app are region locked to the UK there’s a chance that this app isn’t completely ready for the North America audience yet, at least on the iOS platform. Head on down past the break to check out the preview trailer for Watch Dog’s H_IDE app, as well as some screenshots of the app’s UI.
Watch Dogs is a multiplatform title scheduled to hit retail on November 19, 2013.
