The upcoming RPG, Child of Light, looks not only to be one of this year’s most interesting releases, but also one of the most beautiful. The game’s wonderful, hand-painted visuals capture the very essence of the classic fairy tales that Child of Light draws inspiration from.

In a new video from the development team at Ubisoft, the creative process surrounding Child of Light is detailed. Team members discuss drawing inspiration from both traditional fairy tales and the Golden Age of illustration to create Child of Light’s remarkable world of Lemuria.

Set to release on April 30, 2014 for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Child of Light seems in every way destined to be a game that fans of both art and RPGs will be dying to get their hands on.
