The first real look at the Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn web-series just debuted in a new full length trailer, and for being what it is, this project doesn’t look half bad.  The trailer is pretty beefy, clocking in at just over 3 minutes, and it tells the story of the young UNSC cadet who eventually runs into Master Chief.  This cadet is said to have a pretty decent role in the Halo 4 story, so you should treat this web project as a prequel to the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive video game.

Master Chief does indeed make an appearance, and he’s sporting a decent costume with the proper size to boot.  I did find it to be a little on the plastic-y side, and wished it had more of an armor look than a cut up Rubbermaid appeal.  It is a little strange seeing him in live action format for what I believe to be his first real world appearance outside of cosplayers.  I must admit that his voice sounds true to form, but when you hear it coming out of the big dude playing the MC character, it just sounds a little odd.

Overall I’d say I have mildly to slightly above average feelings for this project after watching the trailer below.  Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think.  This digital series will officially release on October 5, 2012 on the MachinimaRespawn channel linked below.  You’ve been betting that the acting in this project is going to be a little shady…
