What Gamers Want for the Week of 10-14-13

There’s not a better week than this one to catch up on some older games that you may have had to set aside during the GTA V release window, because there’s not really a must-play new video game release this week.

The most notable offering will definitely make waves in homes with little kids, and the title is Skylanders Swap Force, which released yesterday for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Wii, and 3DS. If you’re not up for playing a game meant to help sell toys, then you may want to get your safari on with Cabela’s African Adventures, which is releasing for the PS3, Xbox 360, and the Wii.

Outside of those two titles the rest of this week’s new video game releases are rooted in the indie, or re-release space. PC, Mac, and Linux gamers will finally get to try out Two Brothers, and PC gamers will be able to download Arcane Worlds. Valhalla Knights 3 is releasing for the Vita and PSN, and the Angry Birds trilogy is also coming out for the PSN.

It’s plain to see that this is a week to let your wallet recover and prepare itself for the deluge of new releases, which will start next week with Batman: Arkham Origins. Although, if you still need something new to play this week you can check out the final list of recommendations and Amazon links (if possible) after the break.
