Happy holidays geeks, gamers, and non-conformists! Hopefully you still have plenty of games from the later part of 2013 to play, because the new release lineup this week is meek. It’s not surprising considering that this is Christmas week for most of the world, so publishers tend to avoid releasing any type of major new game to the public.
Even with the holidays approaching there are a few titles releasing this week if you really need a new game to play. The most enticing game releasing this week is Halo: Spartan Assault for the Xbox One, which has only been previously available for Windows based tablets.
The three other new releases really aren’t new, but rather releases for platforms that they haven’t been available on before. These include Castlestorm, EDGE, and Super Mario 3. Castlestorm and SMB3 are releasing for the Wii U, with the latter also coming out for the 3DS. EDGE is only coming out for the 3DS.
That’s about it, so hopefully you’re still cranking through games like AC4, A Link Between Worlds, and the other late November releases to get you through the doldrums of the holiday video game release season.
Halo: Spartan Assault is a unique top down take on the popular Halo franchise that was fun to play on a tablet, so there’s a great chance it’ll handle even better on the Xbox One.
