What Gamers Want for the Week of 4-14-14

Slim pickings

It’s going to be a light week of must-play new video game releases, so hopefully you still have some games in your backlog that need your immediate attention.

One of the more prominent releases is Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn, which is finally hitting the PS4 platform. Max: The Curse of the Brotherhood is also releasing for two new platforms in the Xbox 360 and PC. Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars is getting a PS Vita and 3DS release, giving it two new mobile platforms for gamers to play on.

Sports gamers may be interested in the release of Trials Fusion (PS4, PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One) or 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil (Xbox 360, PS3), which are releasing on multiple platforms. Borderlands 2 fans can make one last trip to Pandora with the release of the fifth and final Headhunter pack in Sir Hammerlock Versus the Son of Crawmerax for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Mac.

PC gamers can get their paws on Moebius: Empire Rising, Lost Civilization, Eterium, or Mechanic Escape. Strategic gamers can also practice their chess skills on the PS4 this week thanks to the release of Pure Chess.

Our Recommendation

This is a great week to save your cash, but if you must play a new game you may want to check out the latest FIFA game that is centered around the 2014 World Cup. If you can’t get enough Borderlands 2 then you should definitely grab the last headhunter pack in Sir Hammerlock Versus the Son of Crawmerax. If you enjoy the Trials franchise you can’t go wrong with Fusion, which is the first entry to hit the new consoles.
