The new video game release drought continues this week, and it could be the worst launch week of the summer so far. Most of the new releases are either re-releases, super editions, or indie titles that may not even be on people’s radar. With that being said there may be an experience just for you, so let’s break down what is coming out over the next seven days.

Abyss Odyssey leads the way this week, which is a procedurally generated action platformer for the PS3, 360, and PC. If you missed the latest Saints Row title then this is your chance to pickup its ‘National Treasure Edition,’ which comes packed with all of the DLC that has released over the past year for the title. Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2015 is coming out for the Xbox family of consoles and PCs, so card deck gaming fans should have something to keep them busy this week if anything else. Unfortunately this is about it for worthy new video game releases coming out this week, so choose wisely, or don’t choose at all.

Our Recommendation

Abyss Odyssey definitely shows some promise, and has potential to be a really cool title if its development holds up. If you haven’t played Saints Row 4 then the ‘National Treasure Edition’ will definitely help to fill the gaming void in your life.
